This Privacy Policy describes how the Orthodox Calendar iOS application ("the App") handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
The Orthodox Calendar app collects minimal information to function properly:
We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, location, or any identifying data.
The App uses the Anthropic API to generate biographical content about saints in Greek. When content is requested, the name of the saint is sent to Anthropic's servers solely for the purpose of generating the text. This data is not linked to you personally and is subject to Anthropic's own privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
Generated content is cached in Firebase Firestore to avoid repeated API calls. Only saint names and generated text are stored — no user data is involved.
The App uses the following third-party services:
We do not use any advertising networks, analytics services, or tracking tools.
Your bookmarks, nameday reminders, and app preferences are stored exclusively on your device. They are never uploaded to any server. If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed.
If you enable nameday reminders, the App will request permission to send you local notifications. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any server communication. You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone Settings.
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App contains no age-restricted content and is suitable for all ages.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
